On Sunday, The President of Congress Rahul Gandhi appeal to place documents before Parliament to prove her claim that the Modi government has given Rs 1 lakh crore worth of orders to defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), or resige to the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman
On Friday, Sitharaman made the claims in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi post on Twitter for asking question her claims in media report that said “no actual order has been placed”.

Defence minister Sitharaman hit back at Gandhi for his remarks, saying read “the complete report” to “which you are referring”. “although, as the LS record shows, Sitharaman did not claim the orders were signed, saying they were in the works.” Sitharaman tweeted, quoting from the media report to assert that she had not stated in Parliament that the orders to HAL had been signed.
Doubts raised on my statement on HAL contracts misleading’: Sitharaman
“Doubts raised on my statement on HAL contracts are incorrect and misleading,” said defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Lok Sabha.
“I have received confirmation from HAL that contracts during 2014-18 worth Rs 26,570.80 crore have already been signed with HAL. Orders worth Rs 73,000 Cr approx are in the pipeline,” she added.
